Is there a hidden population of kangaroos in the United States? Sounds crazy. But the answer is....maybe.  A while back, the now-defunct website Cryptozoology News ran a report from northeastern Tennessee ( http://cryptozoologynews.com/kangaro-like-creature-seen-in-tennessee/ ). A witness spotted a kangaroo-like creature crossing the road late at night. This is a description of the animal from the article: The female passenger in his cab asked upon passing the spot where the car had swerved if my driver had seen “it”. When he told her he had not, she described the creature as something about 2 feet tall, running at a high rate of speed across the road on only its hind legs, and had the overall body shape of a Kangaroo. In June 2021, my wife and I spent some time in the Dakotas while traveling the nation in our RV. While I was in the town of Medora, North Dakota, located on the border of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, I began thinking of the "Badlands Horror." I first learned of the Badlands Horror from a guy who contacted me through my website. He told me the story of a strange creature that went on a rampage killing livestock in the North Dakota badlands during the early 1930s. He also sent the text from news articles mixed with his own commentary. I posted the article on my blog and asked that anyone with more information contact me, but no one did. The Venetian merchant, explorer, and author Marco Polo (1254–1324) traveled the world and recorded many strange things he encountered along the way in his writings. This includes cryptid encounters. Maybe the most notable strange encounter that Polo had in his travels occurred in Asia when he saw the Great Serpents of Karazan. The enormous snakes were ten paces, or 25 feet in length and 10 spans, or 7.5 feet in girth. Did Polo witness some sort of prehistoric creature that had survived into his day? What is 6 feet tall, has feet like a dog, a big bushy tail, and is black? George May asked this question in an article he wrote for  The News,  a Frederick, Maryland newspaper, on November 29, 1965. The answer to May’s question: a Dwayyo. The first mention of the Dwayyo seems to have taken place in the 1940s in Frederick County. The Dwayyo became a household name in November 1965 in what was more likely than not a hoax. John Becker contacted an area newspaper and claimed he was attacked by a Dwayyo in his backyard. Unfortunately, the story is full of holes. The paper sent the report to the police who tried to follow up with Becker. According to Sergeant Clyde B. Tucker, Becker could not be located for questioning. I had the map out looking for things to do during my 2022 two-week stay in Wisconsin. So far, I had been to Rock Lake but failed to spot the fabled monster in its waters. I visited the amazing ancient mounds and earthworks at Aztalan State Park, Koshkonong Lake, and other places. Land Between the Lakes is a beautiful piece of protected land in Kentucky and Tennessee . According to rumor this area may hold a frightening beast. Known as the monster of Land Between the Lakes, this creature might be a Bigfoot, dogman or worse. Wikipedia says the following about Land Between the Lakes: The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is a United States National Recreation Area located in Kentucky and Tennessee between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. The area was designated as a national recreation area in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy. Originally managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority, which had constructed dams to create the two lakes in this area, the recreation area was transferred to administration of the United States Forest Service.
